Truthfully, itʼs taken me a thousand tries, to dig around inside, and pass the match to you. It isnʼt much but itʼs enough to light a lamp or maybe two, illuminate your way. Brother Youʼll find yourself lower, than the cool black earth, reaching skyward clawing at the dirt, until your fingers hurt, until your scars youʼve earned. Tenaciously, Iʼve seen you conquer kingdoms, all on your own. Sure youʼve faltered, lost some won some such is a course well run. Brother Youʼll find yourself lower, than the cool black earth, reaching skyward clawing at the dirt, until your fingers hurt, until your scars youʼve earned. Oh what heights youʼll climb to if your mind lies where your heart is. Trust your mother, father, sisters, brother good examples lead. Oh what journeys youʼll embark on as your heart will bend and twist. Trust your judgement donʼt be bought and sold be all you can be. One day youʼll find yourself lower, than the cool black earth, reaching skyward clawing at the dirt, until your fingers hurt, until your scars youʼve earned.

Bridge 03:58
Weʼve searched our heads, for things to make us sick. Rebuild a severed bridge, to cross and reminisce. I feel it sway, and stress beneath my weight. Oh, how weʼve grown, since last I saw this place. So now stand upon the bridge between our lives and what weʼve lived, thinking back to when we first assembled it. Weʼre not depressed, just letting our hearts catch their breath. With a half a lifetime tucked away, within a gently rattled brain. Itʼs easy to get to turned around, retracing steps you never took. The branches would be stronger now, not even axes can cut through knotted wood. So now stand upon the bridge between our lives and what weʼve lived, thinking back to when we first assembled it. I hope we never burn this bridge although weʼll soon lose sight of it, comfort leads to fading luster before long.

Road Again 03:27
A joint hung those lips, eyelids pose risk for eclipse, the orchard of your mind, most thoughtfully was lined, with even greater schemes, of goals wishes and dreams, I think of things Iʼve said, I miss the road again. I contradict myself, Iʼve heard from someone else, I felt I could relate, though from an early place, what costs lies in the brush, perhaps we shouldnʼt touch, despite what I have said, I miss the road again. Things I owe myself, things I owe the earth, Iʼll take the road between, the best one and the worst. And if the scale should tip, and I begin to slip, toward what I have feared, my answer is not clear, Iʼm living by the verse, and writing from the third, with all the being said, I miss the road again.

Was 04:08
I carved my name into this park bench, to leave a little piece of me behind, so those who came here later would know Iʼd been here. We waited out the rain until the sun broke through the clouds, and then we kicked off our shoes and socks and ran barefoot across the lawn, itʼs not just a memories itʼs me and how I came to be, and how I wish that you could see the world the way it was to me. I laced my skates with aching fingers, still trying to rub the sleep from my eyes, the ice was wet from the zamboni but soon the crease would once again be mine. Then all at once we move together twenty frantic quickly beating hearts, moving across the frozen surface a single dream connects who we are, itʼs not just memories itʼs me and I came to be, and how I wish that you could see the world the way it was to me. I strummed my first chords one cold winters day I barely had the strength, I wrote some words I thought held meaning and slowly learned to sing. I earned my calluses and I sang although my voice was rough, like an addiction I couldnʼt give it up I couldnʼt fight my love, itʼs not just a memories itʼs me and how I came to be, and how I wish that you could see the world the way it was to me.

Prepared 03:09
Hold me for always, and dark days in your heart. You carried my burdens on your shoulders from the start. Riches that cannot be bought, lessons we both learned and taught, you gave me a life for to live, but nothing prepared me for this. I know, we wonʼt always see eye to eye on things that we say. Still I know, you support me and I support you on dreams that we chase. Riches that cannot be bought, lessons we both learned and taught, you gave me a life for to live, but nothing prepared me for this.

Spirit of the northern wind, the ancient heart that bares no skin, dance with smoke that paints my lungs, caressing all beneath the sun. And when the moon calls forth the night, carry with you a wolfʼs brave cry, whispering trees surround my tent, their branches stir at your command. Take me somewhere far from home I wanna be unseen, family is as family does two canoes you two and me. Count shooting stars drink by the fire and talk into the night, there is no pain here in this place weʼre gonna be just fine. Stories written in the earth, date back to long before my birth, leaving nothing but their wake, across the surface of these lakes. Take me somewhere far from home I wanna be unseen, family is as family does two canoes you two and me. Count shooting stars drink by the fire and talk into the night, there is no pain here in this place weʼre gonna be just fine.

We set a course for the east indian spice filled our dreams and oh what fortunes weʼd reap. She was a princess of these natives who watched from the beach of this land we had reached. We quickly walked on shore, young men from english soil, sent by the king to toil, and settle here. Soon greeted by their chief, who gestured signs of peace, trading both gifts tea, and hardy feasts. We set a course for the east indian spice filled our dreams and oh what fortunes weʼd reap. She was a princess of these natives who watched from the beach of this land we had reached. A bow is drawn, in summers early dawn, eighteen years come and gone, like me. Four feathers tied into her hair, sheʼs poised before the glare, of a sun warming kings and thieves, who are we. Some men were stricken by greed, from which war grew like a trees, casting a shadow of fear. While others took from the tribe, no more than young native brides, the princess, she wed with me. We set a course for the east indian spice filled our dreams and oh what fortunes weʼd reap. She was a princess of these natives who watched from the beach of this land we had reached.
