Track Name: Sound of a Spark
Sound of a spark, that pulled me apart, left me with a mark like this scar on my arm. Carved in it's place, like a stone bares a name, over a grave in the churches back yard. The snow lay over me.

An endless parade, the incredible waste, so many gave what cannot be replaced. Human and machine, in the air and on the beach, nightmare for a dream at home. The snow lay over me.

Your memories stained, drifting further away, carried on like a flame through the dark. in a beautiful way, all the misery fades, with the anger and shame leaving only scar. The snow lay over me.

Sound of a spark, that pulled me apart, left me with a mark like this scar on my arm. Carved in it's place, like a stone bares a name, over a grave in the churches back yard. The snow lay over me.
Track Name: Lottery
I want for a love, that isn't conditional and it hurts so much, when hearts become pivotal. I keep fucking up and it makes you bitter, I try being tough, but your skin is thicker.

We inherit hate, work for forgiveness, buy into faith, love feels like a lottery.

Grow up, do business with guts, sing with your heart on the side. Look touch and worry too much, about those who light up your life.

Teach me to hunt, never to kill, when I talk too much and trust me I will. I want you to walk with me, listening or not, I just want some company, won't you give it some thought.

We inherit hate, work for forgiveness, buy into faith, love feels like a lottery.

Grow up, do business with guts, sing with your heart on the side. Look touch and worry too much, about those who light up your life.
Track Name: Prepared
Hold me, for always and on dark days in your heart. You've carried my burdens on your shoulders for so long.

Riches that cannot be bought, lessons we both learned and taught, you gave me a life for the live, but nothing prepared me for this.

I know, we won't always see eye to eye, on things that we say. Still I know you support me and I support you, in choices we make.

Riches that cannot be bought, lessons we both learned and taught, you gave me a life for the live, but nothing prepared me for this.
Track Name: Pocket
It’s a rainy December, it’s cold and shitty everyday, your clothes feel so heavy, but you take comfort in the weight. Strip away the damp cool wool, to your warm ivory skin, smile behind the bottle, balanced in your frozen fingertips.

Heart like a hummingbird, hands like the evening winds, pull at my lapels, and rush over my skin. You play with your hair, you drink yourself numb, we aren’t here long, but maybe just long enough.

My love’s a mess, folded in a pocket by your breasts. I sound my best, tucked behind your ear like a cigarette. Where I wrote it down, where we intersect, on the northbound, western provinces. In some border town, when it’s Christmas Eve, in a dull basement apartment.

I’ll be your just in case, like a blade in your back pocket. I’ll marvel at your grace, like the rose behind your ear. Or the lily in your hair and your summer dress, that you wear to bed when you feel depressed. In some border town, when it’s Christmas Eve, in some cheap motel it’s too cold to leave.

The watercolour grays, the “Great Bear” obscured, it’s been at it for days, and the highways a blur. Strip away the damp cool wool, to your warm ivory skin, smile behind the bottle, balanced in your frozen fingertips.

My love’s a mess, folded in a pocket by your breasts. I sound my best, tucked behind your ear like a cigarette. Where I wrote it down, where we intersect, on the northbound, western provinces. In some border town, when it’s Christmas Eve, in a dull basement apartment.

Track Name: Saint Lawrence
The man looked so frantic, waving his pistol, holding a big burlap sack. The diner fell silent, but never got violent, as we handed over our cash. I had a picture, of her in my wallet; I managed to hide from the thief. I wrote her a letter, in pen on a napkin, and still have that picture with me.

She smiled as the Saint Laurence swallowed her feet, the sky bleeding crimson on ghosts sailing east, I heard whispered hymns shimmer over the surface, I mustered my courage and hoped God would notice, me.

The journalist rambled, detailed a hold up, and quoted the chief of police. A couple good witnesses gave their account; with quivering voices they painted the scene. I held her picture, with cracks at the edges, less faded than my memory. I mailed her letter, I wrote on a napkin, two stamps with the west wind on each.

She smiled as the Saint Laurence swallowed her feet, the sky bleeding crimson on ghosts sailing east, I heard whispered hymns shimmer over the surface, I mustered my courage and hoped God would notice, me.
Track Name: Want and Will (Silver Laced Red)
I saw you, find room to breathe on the head of pin, find shelter in a cold prairie wind, and room in a vacant heart you could fill. There’s want and there’s will, there’s chasing and waiting until.

Brush your wild braids from your shoulders, run your fingers though the sky alive, your weight on my shoulders, silver laced red, under gold overhead. There’s want and there’s will, there’s chasing and waiting until. A new day breaks.

Wander through the dangerous shallows; bring light to the depths of the shadows, haunt me in beautiful ways. There’s want and there’s will, there’s chasing and waiting until.

I saw you, move gracefully suspended in time, and marvel in the wonders of life, leave no vacancies in my heart or mind. There’s want and there’s will, there’s chasing and waiting until. A new day breaks.
Track Name: Luxury of Wonder
Maybe you’re the peak of the mountain I climb, maybe you’re the diamond at the bottom of the mine, maybe you’re the song I’ll sing when the right words come my way, maybe you’re the perfect thing in the very worst of ways.

Silence was golden until I first heard her sing, she is the luxury of wonder, and she is everything. The greatest emptiness, the most concentrated joy, among the wreckage of the courage she’s destroyed.

Maybe I’m the desert to your blistering white sun, maybe I’m the darkness to your day that’s finally done. May I be your compass when you quickly alter course, and may I be the distance that you travel evermore.

Silence was golden until I first heard her sing, she is the luxury of wonder, and she is everything. The greatest emptiness, the most concentrated joy, among the wreckage of the courage she’s destroyed.

Are you the hammer falling to my heated steel, am I the fleeing elk and you the wolves hot on my heels, are you the longest day or day for burning clocks, my only wish to be the key that turns your heavy lock.

Silence was golden until I first heard her sing, she is the luxury of wonder, and she is everything. The greatest emptiness, the most concentrated joy, among the wreckage of the courage she’s destroyed.
Track Name: Really Love?
Is that really love, Or are you just saying that, to make me wanna stay? Is enough really enough, beyond my threshold for pain, beyond my bitter tasting name, is there little else to say, now?

When am I gonna wake up, and see you’re sleeping next to me, soundly, peaceful and happy, loving me. The floor boards seem to loosen underneath, the kitchen seems to ripple at the seams, are you gonna answer me? Are you gonna answer me?

Are we past the point of reconciliation now? Are we past the point of banging in another nail, now?

Porcelain fireworks surround our feet, the current pulls the strength out of my knees, wading in the steady stream, of “just what does this mean” and “are you gonna answer me, now?”

When the breaking point is reached, when every blurry line in the sand is breached, when every searing iron’s branded us with the memory, I hope you simply blame me, I hope you simply blame me.

Are we past the point of reconciliation now? Are we past the point of banging in another nail, now?
Track Name: If You Have
If you have her eyes, if you have her kindness, I hope you have her strength. As you grow inside, you fill the spaces left behind, when he walked out of her life.

Mountains that would move for no one, part with ease before our eyes, flood this empty room with light, fill this broken heart with life.

If your fears are many, if your shoulders sink from the weights you carry, I know you’ll have her strength. As you find your own way, the harshest winds and violent waters that you’ll navigate, you’ll have her by your side.

Mountains that would move for no one, part with ease before our eyes, flood this empty room with light, fill this broken heart with life.

If you have his smile or his hands, if you have his voice or plans, I know you’ll have her love. While the distance grows between, where you begin and where you’ll be, you may leave her side, and she won’t mind.

Mountains that would move for no one, part with ease before our eyes, flood this empty room with light, fill this broken heart with life.
Track Name: When Asked to Give
I lay awake, in early light, considering what, I have passed by. Sang in a church, for what it's worth, whether God exists or not, I'm not concerned.

Hearts at the hearth, young man join in, come sing of love, lend us your wind. Some men are born, with thicker skin, while others bleed, when asked to give.

Her body's still, it's peaceful here, I'll ache for this, when it disappears. Some bits of film, laid in a line, kept out of place, but still in time.

When I awake, I'll be fourteen, with all of this, ahead of me. I'll change it all, do it all wrong, I know too much, of nothing at all.

So now I'll leave, I just need out, the rain must fall, to better see the clouds. Fall to the street, slip through the cracks, rise with the heat, to be brought back.

I was not there, to see the garden grow, and yet I knew, before I was told. 'Cause I've known your, like you've known me, and certain things will always be.

Hearts at the hearth, young man join in, come sing of love, lend us your wind. Some men are born, with thicker skin, while others bleed, when asked to give.
Track Name: The Northern Wind
Spirit of the northern wind, the ancient heart that bares no skin. Dance with the smoke that paints my lungs, caressing all beneath the sun.

And when the moon calls forth the night, carry with you the wolves brave cry, whispering trees surround my tent, their branches stir at your command.

Take me somewhere far from home, I wanna be unseen. Family is as family does, two canoes you two and me. Count shooting stars, drink by the fire and talk into the night, there is no pain here in this place, we're gonna be just fine.

Stories written in the earth, date back so long before my birth, still leaving nothing but their wake, across the surface of these lakes.

Take me somewhere far from home, I wanna be unseen. Family is as family does, two canoes you two and me. Count shooting stars, drink by the fire and talk into the night, there is no pain here in this place, we're gonna be just fine.
Track Name: Brave
I was born into rags, brand new and free from shame, nobody wants to know my name, until they see a little of themselves in my face.

I could fit myself with frames and see the world through the rosiest of shades, but honestly I like it better this way, true colours shine much brighter on the darkest days.

We're all a little worn out and used, bodies borrowed, hearts and minds abused.

I think you're really brave, I'm fucking terrified but you give me strength, so when I feel my hands start to shake, my tongue is steady as I sing it all away.

We're all a little worn out and used, bodies borrowed, hearts and minds abused.
Track Name: Awake - Bonus Track
These bright lights, these white walls, all these bright minds, they keep my curtains drawn. Listening to footsteps, echo through the halls, I like to think it’s you, even if I’m wrong.

I keep myself awake, sometimes in vain, but just in case you come along. I’ll see the morning chase, the darkness from a place, where you held me so long. I know it won’t be long. I know where I belong.

The whole place sings, a kind of empty song, the sounds all come at once, the quiet parts are long. There’s a lot of commotion, there’s a lot of pain, and sometimes I feel so lost. Sometimes I feel so safe.

I keep myself awake, sometimes in vain, but just in case you come along. I’ll see the morning chase, the darkness from a place, where you held me so long. I know it won’t be long. I know where I belong.
Track Name: Traveller - Bonus track
I’ll move upstream, against the drag, I’ll be a traveller in your veins. Pass through your heart and find some dark and quiet place. I’ll build an arc with bits of bones, to brave the storms that come and go. I’ll stir the flurry in your stomach when you venture toward new roads.

We’ll pause below the ancient oak, that severed clean the mighty stone, and rests between two equal half’s where it has grown.

I’ll wake up in your wildest dreams, and lay my armor at your feet, and bury deep the fears I’ve held so long in me.

I’ll get you through this, if you help me do this, I’ll get you through it, if you help me do this.

I’ll move right though, that open door, I’ll be a passenger no more. I’ll lay the framework for a deviation from this tired script.

Track Name: Bored - Bonus Track
If there really was a secret chord, if I could learn, to play it would you still be bored?

What if every verse was perfect, what if I could work to earn it, if I try to keep my words swift, if I moonlight as a poet, long enough. Light it at both ends and burn it, write it like it’s urgent, my gift, songs with purpose, singing was a work in progress, but I showed promise, now I’m spitting quicker verses, and every word is mine, every note I try to find, try to keep the beat in time, little everyday I climb, the ladder in my mind no end in sight, no peaks to reach, no limit each, day another heat, occasions that I rise to meet. No sandbagging on the track, reap gold, when I sow my blood, as I get further from the start, impart my heart, the chorus starts, the rungs get further apart, I’ll grow wings before I hit the ground, I’ll grow gills before I ever drown.

Won’t be just another fading could’ve been, sitting at the bar, where the bands are, between sets, forget regrets, I’m on to the next test, song for a best friend, before I had any press, who would’ve guessed, with blood and sweat, shrugging off the pessimists, digging back out of debt, I owe to myself to give my best and nothing less. I sing and write, record and tour and pour my soul into every chord, when I was young I swore I’d be more than ordinary, failing doesn’t scare me, I can see with clarity, since I was just a kid, playing for tips, numb with frozen fingertips, trip over my lips, speaking when I’m nervous, until the music hits, giving me confidence, giving me my major lift, never have enough of it.

Leave behind the nine to five, to thrive and strive to live a life, that doesn’t ride on someone else’s good advice, I’ve made my path no looking back, no giving half-assed, efforts to arrive at my, destination, I stay patient, focused anything but vacant, quoted, lyrics on another persons skin, listen in, while I begin. To grow and show, I know that artists come and go and throw the towel in, momentum slows and everybody on to the next thing, next kid who can write, play and sing. I’m already in another town, with new tunes for a new crowed, looking out, things start looking up, I’m living in the now, hometowns I’ve found, new sounds I’m proud, same guitar, loaded back the car, eat, sleep and breathe every part, so I can be a brand new me, on every homemade CD, no retreat, I find my feet back on the beat, repeat the chorus, more rust falls away from me, until I shine.
