lyrics

I lay awake, in early light, considering what, I have passed by. Sang in a church, for what it's worth, whether God exists or not, I'm not concerned.

Hearts at the hearth, young man join in, come sing of love, lend us your wind. Some men are born, with thicker skin, while others bleed, when asked to give.

Her body's still, it's peaceful here, I'll ache for this, when it disappears. Some bits of film, laid in a line, kept out of place, but still in time.

When I awake, I'll be fourteen, with all of this, ahead of me. I'll change it all, do it all wrong, I know too much, of nothing at all.

So now I'll leave, I just need out, the rain must fall, to better see the clouds. Fall to the street, slip through the cracks, rise with the heat, to be brought back.

I was not there, to see the garden grow, and yet I knew, before I was told. 'Cause I've known your, like you've known me, and certain things will always be.

Hearts at the hearth, young man join in, come sing of love, lend us your wind. Some men are born, with thicker skin, while others bleed, when asked to give.
