lyrics

We set a course for the east indian spice filled our dreams and oh what fortunes weʼd reap. She was a princess of these natives who watched from the beach of this land we had reached.

We quickly walked on shore, young men from english soil, sent by the king to toil, and settle here. Soon greeted by their chief, who gestured signs of peace, trading both gifts tea, and hardy feasts.

We set a course for the east indian spice filled our dreams and oh what fortunes weʼd reap. She was a princess of these natives who watched from the beach of this land we had reached.

A bow is drawn, in summers early dawn, eighteen years come and gone, like me. Four feathers tied into her hair, sheʼs poised before the glare, of a sun warming kings and thieves, who are we.

Some men were stricken by greed, from which war grew like a trees, casting a shadow of fear. While others took from the tribe, no more than young native brides, the princess, she wed with me.

We set a course for the east indian spice filled our dreams and oh what fortunes weʼd reap. She was a princess of these natives who watched from the beach of this land we had reached.
