lyrics

I carved my name into this park bench, to leave a little piece of me behind, so those who came here later would know Iʼd been here. We waited out the rain until the sun broke through the clouds, and then we kicked off our shoes and socks and ran barefoot across the lawn, itʼs not just a memories itʼs me and how I came to be, and how I wish that you could see the world the way it was to me.

I laced my skates with aching fingers, still trying to rub the sleep from my eyes, the ice was wet from the zamboni but soon the crease would once again be mine. Then all at once we move together twenty frantic quickly beating hearts, moving across the frozen surface a single dream connects who we are, itʼs not just memories itʼs me and I came to be, and how I wish that you could see the world the way it was to me.

I strummed my first chords one cold winters day I barely had the strength, I wrote some words I thought held meaning and slowly learned to sing. I earned my calluses and I sang although my voice was rough, like an addiction I couldnʼt give it up I couldnʼt fight my love, itʼs not just a memories itʼs me and how I came to be, and how I wish that you could see the world the way it was to me.
